FAQ

Questions about employee home charging.

13 questions

What are the costs for our company of installing and managing charging points at our employees’ homes?

Swish offers a turnkey solution with a tailored financing model. Costs may include the initial installation and monthly service fees for management, maintenance, software and automated reimbursement. Contact us for a personalised study based on the number of employees involved and your specific needs.

What is the average time between signing the framework contract with our company and the charging point being installed at an employee’s home?

Once the framework contract is signed, the process for each employee is quick. After receiving the employee’s agreement, we assess their home technically, often remotely. Installation by our certified technicians can generally be planned and completed within a few weeks, subject to equipment availability and technician schedules.

Is every employee’s home suitable for installation? What about employees who live in apartments or co-owned buildings, or have older electrical installations?

Suitability depends on the home’s electrical set-up, so we run a technical assessment for each case. For apartments in shared-ownership buildings, specific procedures may apply (right to install, co-owners’ agreement), and we can advise employees on them. Older installations may need upgrading to current standards first, which we check during the diagnosis.

Can installation of a charging point at an employee’s home benefit from government grants?

Yes, many national schemes offer grants for installing charging points in private homes, including shared residential buildings. Our team can advise the employee on how to apply individually. These grants are compatible with charging managed through the company.

How do you handle the variety of employee electricity contracts and tariffs to ensure accurate reimbursement?

Our system is designed for this flexibility. During configuration, the employee’s specific electricity tariff, including peak and off-peak variations, is entered into our platform. The smart charging point records charging time, so the real cost can be reimbursed to the cent, whatever the provider or contract.

How does Swish handle the calculation and declaration of benefit in kind for home charging?

Our software platform precisely records the electricity used only for charging company vehicles. We give companies detailed, compliant reports that let your HR or accounting teams calculate and declare benefits in kind easily, in line with current regulations. We clearly separate professional consumption to simplify the process.

What support and reports do you offer fleet managers and HR teams at our company?

We assign you a single point of contact. You get a dedicated management platform with a global view of your installed charging point estate, total consumption, aggregated reimbursement costs and exportable detailed reports, useful for budget tracking, audits and benefit-in-kind management.

What guarantees do you offer on the protection of employees’ personal data and the confidentiality of their electricity consumption?

Data protection is an absolute priority. Swish complies strictly with the GDPR. Consumption data collection is limited to what is necessary for reimbursement and reporting to the company. Data is stored securely and treated confidentially. Employees can access their own data in their app, for full transparency.

Who owns the charging point installed at an employee’s home during the contract?

During the validity of the standard 3-year contract, charging points remain the property of Swish. This lets us include maintenance and insurance in our service offer, simplifying management for the company and the employee.

What happens if an employee equipped with a Swish charging point leaves our company before the end of a 3-year contract?

Our standard 3-year contract provides flexible options in case of early exit. Under the agreed terms, employees can choose to buy the charging point at its residual value, or Swish can organise its removal. We manage these transitions to minimise inconvenience for the company and the former employee.

What happens if an employee moves during the contract? Can charging points be transferred?

Yes, we provide flexibility. If an employee moves, we assess whether the charging point can be uninstalled and reinstalled at the new address, after a new technical evaluation of the location. Costs for these operations may apply under the contract terms. We manage the process to ensure service continuity.

How is professional consumption reimbursed?

The platform separates professional and private consumption and reimburses the professional part automatically.

Who installs the home charger?

Swish handles the installation, then the charging point is supervised like the rest of your estate.
